Major League Soccer is the United States' Division 1 professional men's league. It began play in 1996 with ten teams: Colorado Rapids, Columbus Crew, Dallas Burn, DC United, Kansas City Wizards, Los Angeles Galaxy, New England Revolution, New York-New Jersey MetroStars, San Jose Clash, and the Tampa Bay Mutiny.
