St. George is situated in Charlotte County on the west arm of Passamaquoddy Bay, on Highway 1 between Pennfield and Digdeguash. The Town was founded by Peter Clinch in the 1700s. The town may be best known for the quality of the granite cut from the large hills in the region. This Red Granite is reputed to be the best quality in the world and has been used in several historical land marks such as the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa and many Cathedrals throughout the world.
