Cap-Pelé is situated in Westmorland County on Northumberland Strait, near Shediac, between Dupuis Corner and Petit-Cap. Founded in 1780, the Village of Cap-Pelé thrives on fishing and fish processing. Smoked herring processed in this village accounts for 95% of the total production in Atlantic Canada. Aquaculture features mussel and trout farms. Additional economic activities include manufacturing windows, floors, and boxes. Cap-Pelé is rich in Acadian heritage and offers a wide range of cultural and recreational activities. This village is host to various festivals, such as the Fishermens Festival, the Frolic, the Heart of Acadia Festival, and the Snowball Winter Carnival.
