Intaglio printmaking is a term to describe the use of metal plates, usually copper or zinc, to produce hand-pulled limited edition prints. Artists in this media work in a a variety of processes including etching, engraving, drypoint, mezzotint, aquatint, photogravure, and direct-gravure. The categories aim is to provide a venue for those artists who use the intaglio medium to create original prints or works of art as a means of artistic expression.
