(Nacida Johanna Heuser; 1829-1901) Escritora suiza, n. en Hirzel y m. en Zürich. Dedicada a la literatura infantil desde 1871, su Geschichte für Kinder und auch Solche, welche Kinder liebhaben (16 vols., 1879-95), en la que figura la conocida serie de Heidi, le valió fama universal. Publicó también Heimatlos, Sina (1884) y Verirrt und Gefunden (1887), entre otras deliciosas narraciones para niños.
