In 1978, Garner Ted Armstrong split from the Worldwide Church of God which had been founded by his father and formed the Church of God, International. In 1998 the church again split and Garner Ted Armstrong started the Intercontinental Church of God. Based in Tyler Texas and it is a partner to the Garner Ted Armstrong Evangelistic Association. It is a sabbatarian body which uses the Hebrew calendar to establish God's holy days. The seven holy days are also kept. With offices in Tyler, Texas, the Interncontinental Church of God, has local congregations in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Barbados, New Zealand and the United States.
