Brownington is a town located in Orleans County, Vermont. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 885. Notable buildings include the Old Stone House Museum. Notable residents include William Barstow Strong, president of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway and Alexander Twilight, first African American to serve on a state legislature.
