Lufkin, sometimes called the heart of East Texas, is the commercial hub of a 12 county market region, serving over 300,000 residents. Lufkin is a town on the rise, with new businesses and retail outlets opening all the time. Located about 2.5 hours north of Houston on highay 59, Lufkin is sometimes called the sister city of Nacogdoches, although they are quite different.
