East Haddam [Middlesex County] was otherwise known as Haddam East Society. It was incorporated and named in 1734. Its Native American name is "Macki-moodus".
Area, 56.6 sq. miles. Population, est., 7,490. Voting Districts, 1. Principal industries, manufacture of nylon and cotton twine, custom injection plastic molders, fish nets, printing, custom built bicycles, plumbing and heating products, boat manufacturing, lamp shades, kite manufacturing and assembly, concrete products.
East Haddam includes the villages of Hadlyme and Moodus.
