Brooklyn [Windham County] Connecticut was named in 1752 from brook line (the Quinebaug). It was incorporated from Canterbury and Pomfret in 1786. Formerly known as Mortlake.
Area, 29.1 sq. miles. Population, est., 6,909. Voting districts, 1. Principal industries, agriculture and manufacture of electrical goods.
Brooklyn includes the borough Danielson.
