Berlin [Hartford County] Connecticut was incorporated from Farmington, Middletown and Wethersfield, in May of1785. It was named from Berlin, Prussia and formerly known as Kensington.
Area, 27.0 sq. miles. Population, est., 17,246. Voting districts, 7. Principal industries, over 125 small to medium size manufacturers call Berlin home, producing everything from precision machine tools to paper cups. Corporate headquarters of Northeast Utilities located there.
