The Pascua Yaqui Indian Reservation is located 15 miles southwest of Tucson. Although they are descended from ancient Uto-Azteca people, they were not recognized as a historic tribe until 1994.

Tribal government is the largest employer on the reservation, but they also operate a gaming facility, Casino of the Sun, a landscape nursery, and they manufacture adobe blocks. The tribe is noted for cultural paintings done by children, and Deer Dance statues.
