Andalusia is located at the highest point in Covington County, and is the County Seat. Although no one knows where the name Andalusia originated, the town was designated as Andalusia in 1846 when the first Post Office was established. The area was originally inhabited by the Creek Indians, so Indian mounds, arrowheads, and other relics can still be found here.
