One of Niagara's regional municipalities, Wainfleet contains the town itself, the community of Wellandport, and a few small localities such as Winger and Long Beach. Primarily a farming area, mainly planted with cash crops rather than fruit trees or vines, it starts at the northern shore of Lake Erie and ends at the southern bank of the Welland River. In an east-westerly direction it begins outside Port Colborne and stretches to the eastern boundary of Dunnville's municipal area.
