Kingsville, Ontario, is Canada's southernmost incorporated community. Situated farther south than Northern California in the USA, it has a small adjacent community called `New California'. The town is located on Highway #18, between The City of Leamington and the Town of Harrow and is easily reached from Windsor via Highway #3, The 401 Highway, and by passage from many points on western Lake Erie. Kingsville is in the region known as `Canada's Sun Parlour', and enjoys an almost Mediterranean Climate, with mild to warm Springs and Falls, very warm Summers, and temperate Winters. The weather makes Kingsville and the surrounding area one of Canada's most productive growing regions. Along with the adjacent community of Leamington, and to a lesser extent, Harrow, it is a centre of some of Canada's largest greenhouse operations. Throughout the year, shipments of fresh vegetables are made from the area, to points across the entire North American Continent. (by funk)
