Cornwallis is a community located in the Township of Clements in Annapolis County. The township was created in 1784 and is bounded on the north by the Annapolis Basin and River, on the east by the Township of Annapolis, and on the south by other lands of the County, and on the west by the township of Digby and the Bear River...nearly in the form of a square. Other communities that are a part of the Township are Clementsport (a village built at the head of the tide waters of the Moose River), Upper Clements, Clementsvale, and Deep Brook. Cornwallis used to be the home to the Canadian military's enlisted personnel Basic Training facilities.
