Michael Martin was Speaker of the House of Commons from Sites about or related to former Labour MP and later Commons Speaker from October 2000 to June 2009, when he resigned in the wake of the expenses scandal. Prior to holding the office of Speaker he had been a Labour MP for Glasgow since 1979.
