Kirkconnel, with Kelloholm, forms the most north western settlement in the Upper Nith Valley of Dumfriesshire, before the border with East Ayrshire.  It lies up the western valley from Sanquhar.  This category is for sites about this valley, Kirkland Hill to the north, Mynwhirr Hill to the west, as far as Kello Water to the south.
