Knowstone is an inland parish, administered by North Devon District Council, with its easten boundary with Oakford, Mid Devon. It is enclosed by the North Devon parishes of East Anstey to the north, westwards by Molland, Bishop's Nympton, with Rose Ash and Rackenford to the south.
