Sitcom revolving around the historical figure Blackadder, who appears in the first series as the snivelling son of the King Richard IV. The second series features Blackadder as a courtier to Queen Elizabeth I, with the third series seeing him return as the butler to the Prince Regent, George III. The final series has Blackadder as a sergeant in the trenches in World War I. Played by Rowan Atkinson, and with Tony Robinson playing Blackadder's ever faithful sidekick Baldrick. Also starring Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, Tim McInnerny, Miranda Richardson, Adrian Edmonson and Rik Mayall. Written by Ben Elton and Richard Curtis. First broadcast on BBC1 in June 1983.
