Chortkiv (Polish: Czortków; Russian: Chortkov; Ukrainian: Чортків) is a city and administrative center of the Chortkiv Raion (district) in the Ternopil Oblast (province) of western Ukraine.
It is located on the banks of the Seret river in the northern part of the Galician Podolia region.
Its population was 28,855 in the 2001 census.
