The University of Connecticut was founded in 1881 as Storrs Agricultural School for boys. Over the years, the school evolved, changing its name and profile, and eventually became the University of Connecticut in 1939.
Today, UConn is a coeducational institution with 17 schools and colleges on eight campuses throughout Connecticut.
