The College of Arts and Science is the oldest and largest college at the University of Saskatchewan. Formed in 1908, the College has grown from 70 students to nearly 7000. Since the late 1980s, the College has offered students the opportunity to complete the first two years of an Arts and Science degree at either the main campus or one of the seven off-campus sites located in Saskatchewan. The College of Arts and Science is the most diverse college at the U of S, with 22 departments and four affiliated departments. Students may pursue over 40 areas of discipline- and interdisciplinary-based study. These subject areas are grouped into four program types: Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Fine Arts. The College offers courses leading to the following degrees or certificates: Bachelor of Arts (Three- and Four-Year & Honours), Bachelor of Science (Three- and Four-Year & Honours), Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Music, Advanced or Honours Certificate in Arts, Advanced or Honours Certificate in Science, and Post-Degree Specialization Certificate.
