Smaller than the regular hamster, dwarf hamsters grow to about 3 inches and live anywhere from one to three years. They're relatively inexpensive and easy to take care of, and can actually bond with their owner. They have needs and health concerns different than that of a regular-sized hamster, so special precautions must be made when caring for a dwarf hamster.
