Grading of coins is a very subjective process. This category provides links to coin grading services and information about coin grading. Coin Grading services provide expert grading of coins for a fee and return the coin encapsulated in a plastic holder to protect it from damage. The holder or slab as they are known will list the coin, date, mint mark and grade for the coin. Coin grading services utilize a scale of 1 to 70, with MS (mint state) 70 being a perfect coin.
