The Volkswagen Golf is a small family car manufactured by Volkswagen since 1974 and marketed worldwide across six generations, in various body configurations and under various nameplates – as the Volkswagen Rabbit in the United States and Canada (Mk1 and Mk5), and as the Volkswagen Caribe in Mexico (Mk1). The generation are as followed: Mark I - 1983 to 1984 Mark II - 1985 to 1992 Mark III - 1993 to 1999 Mark IV - 1999 to 2005 Mark V - 2006 to 2009 Mark V - 2009 to 20xx
