Ketamine, (C13H16CINO) 2-(2-Chlorophenyl)-2-(methylamino)- cyclohexanone, is an anaesthetic used in medicine and veterinary medicine, and is also abused as a recreational drug. In lower doses it induces dreamy feelings, in slightly higher doses, it has psychedelic effects, and can cause out of body and near-death experiences. In higher doses it causes unconsciousness.
