Bisacodyl is an over-the-counter stimulant laxative. It is used to treat occasional constipation, or to clean out the bowel prior to surgical procedures. It is available in pill, suppository, and enema form. Brand names include Alophen, Carter's Little Pills, Correctol, and Dulcolax. Feen-a-Mint tablets, no longer sold, were bisacodyl. Some Fleet enemas and suppositories are bisacodyl.
