Final Fantasy Anthology was released on the Sony PlayStation in the fall of 1999 in North America and contains Final Fantasy V (previously unreleased outside of Japan) and Final Fantasy VI (previously released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) as Final Fantasy III outside of Japan). The re-released versions contains new FMV sequences and a slightly changed translation for Final Fantasy VI.

Final Fantasy Anthology was released as Final Fantasy Collection in Japan during March of 1999 and included Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, and Final Fantasy VI.
