Atari is a term in a Japanese board game called Go and has an equivalent meaning to saying Chess in a Chess game. The Atari logo - the Fuji - represents the Fujiama mountain in Japan. Atari was founded on June 27th 1972 by Nolan Bushnell. First shipped video game system was an arcade game called Pong, in 1973.
