The Sound Interface Device, SID (MOS 6581 and MOS 8580, depending on version of the machine) is the sound synthetizer chip used in Commodore 64 and 128. SID has a distinct, addictive sound and its sound has - honestly said - magical qualities; No two SID chips sound exactly the same! The SID, as a music meta-genre, refers to the music produced using these chips (or emulators). This category contains links to SID tune collections, SID emulator software, SID hardware and remixes of famous SID tunes.
