VRML, is an acronym for Virtual Reality Modeling Language. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) refers to it as ISO/IEC DIS 14772-1, or as VRML 97. VRML is a standard language for the animation and 3D modeling of geometric shapes.
VRML is an open format for 3D graphics on the Internet. It allows 3D scenes to be viewed and manipulated over the Internet in an interactive environment.
To view a VRML file, you need a VRML viewer or browser. Browsers can either be a standalone program, or more typically, they are plugins for common Web browsers such as Netscape Communicator or Internet Explorer.
