"Glee" is an American musical comedy-drama series first aired in 2009 on the Fox network. It follows the personal lives and efforts of an Ohio high school show choir's sponsor and members to keep the program alive amid apathy from classmates and administrators, and rivalry from the school's celebrated cheer squad. The show is notable for featuring performances of contemporary music and show tunes woven into the plot; many of its cast members and guest stars have backgrounds in musical theater.
