Rachel Kempson - British actress, born 28 May 1910, Dartmouth, England, UK, died of natural causes 24 May 2003, Millbrook, New York, USA. Rachel Kempson trained at RADA before joining the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1933. She married actor Michael Redgrave in 1935 and became Lady Redgrave when Sir Michael was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1959. She is the mother of actors Vanessa, Corin and Lynn Redgrave, and grandmother of actors Natasha Richardson, Joely Richardson and Jemma Redgrave. Movies include 'Stealing Heaven' (1988), 'Jane Eyre' (1970), 'Tom Jones' (1963), and 'The Captive Heart' (1948). TV roles include 'The Jewel in the Crown' (1984).
