Ava Lavinia Gardner (1922 Grabtown, NC - 1990 London, UK) was a famous American actress, active on screen for more than 40 years. Her most outstanding roles include Kitty Collins in "The Killers" (1946), Linda Grahame in "Singapore" (1947), Elizabeth Hinten in "The Bribe" (1949), Eloise Kelly in "Mogambo" (1953), Brett Ashley in "The Sun Also Rises" (1957), and Eleanor Holbrook in "Seven Days in May" (1964). Although acting till late 1980s, her last great role was Maxine Faulk in "The Night of the Iguana" (1964).
