James Gandolfini ( September 18, 1961-June 19, 2013) was an American actor and TV star. He started his career in 1992 in the movie "A Stranger Among Us". He appeared in "Get Shorty" (1995), "Crimson Tide" (1995), "The Juror" (1996), and "She's So Lovely" (1997), but was best known as Anthony 'Tony' Soprano, Sr. in the TV Series " The Sopranos". His other famous roles included Eddie Poole in 8MM (1999), Winston Baldry in "The Mexican" (2001), and Big Dave in "The Man Who Wasn't There" (2001). He won several awards, including two Emmies and a Golden Globe award.
