Although Alan Cumming has appeared as supporting roles in many notable films(Spice World, Romy and Michelle, Buddy, Goldeneye, Circle of Friends), he has received the most attention so far by originating the role of the Emcee in the 1998 Roundabout revival of Cabaret on Broadway, for which he received a Drama Desk award and a Tony.
