Probably best known for his starring role in the 1974 movie "The Godfather II", he has also appeared in the US television drama show "Ryan's Hope", and was nominated for two Emmy awards for his work on the mobster series "The Sopranos". Aside from regular performances in New York with his band "The Cement Sidewalkers", Chianese also made an appearance at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville in September 2001. He was born in New York City, USA on 2nd September 1943.
