Born Miriam Johnson on May 25, 1947, in Phoenix, AZ, Jessi Colter was an important country music rebel in the 1970s, breaking from Nashville Music Row and their soft pop stylings. Colter was also wife of Waylon Jennings and mother of Shooter Jennings. Colter's breakthrough song was "I'm Not Lisa" released in 1975, and she was one of the four featured artists on the famous RCA release "Wanted! The Outlaws" in 1976.
