A contemporary of John Sheppard, Tallis, and Taverner, Christopher Tye (c.1505-1572) was a noted organist who left a heritage of liturgical, hymnic, and secular works. His career spanned the English Reformation and his output shows adaptation to the changing ecclesiastical and political climates in England.
