American composer Anne Phillips, an accomplished singer, composer, and teacher, is on the faculty of New York University. She arranges for and directs the NYU Jazz Choir. She has worked in jazz and other genres, written commercial advertising music, and composed a jazz nativity. She also is vitally interested in disadvantaged youth and uses the Kindred Spirits Foundation to bring music education to them.
