Belgian Renaissance composer Orlando de Lassus was born in Mons, Hainault, Belgium, sometime between 1520 and 1534 (depending upon the source). All agree that he died in Munich in 1594. Most of his music was probably written as he served various nobles and churchmen in Italy. He also worked in the Bavarian court before his death.
