American composer James Horner (1953-) studied at the Royal College of Music in London, England, the University of Southern California, and the University of California, Los Angeles. His film career took off with 1982's soundtrack for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. He won Oscars and Golden Globes for original score and song with Titanic and was nominated several other times. Horner received Grammy Awards for Titanic, Glory, and The Untouchables.
