American Jerry Goldsmith (1929-2004) was one of the world's most active screen artists, even if not many recognize his name and fewer his face. This is because he has scored over two hundred movies and television shows and has been nominated for several Academy Awards, including Patton, Planet of the Apes, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Hoosiers, and Mulan. He won for The Omen in 1977. He began in radio, with shows such as Gunsmoke, moving on to TV (including Have Gun, Will Travel and The Twilight Zone).
