(1928-1996), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He studied with Bernard Waganaar, Vincent Persichetti and Peter Menin at Juilliard. He was commissioned to compose music for several major orchestras and won many awards including the 1972 Pulitzer Prize for Windows for orchestra.
