Flemish-born Medieval composer Gilles de Bins Binchois (c. 1400-1460) was an ordained priest. Much of his career was spent as chaplain at the Court of Burgundy. He produced a number of religious works, including the oldest surviving polyphonic Te Deum and musical settings of the Magnificat, Credo, and Gloria, yet is most remembered for his French secular chansons, of which more than fifty survive.
