Signed with Motown in the 1960's and again in the late 1970's, Rick James had two R&B hits on his debut album Come and Get It! which went gold. His punk-funk style yielding numerous hits throughout the 1980's before personal problems took their toll. Urban Rapsody marked a comeback in 1997.
