Born on December 9, 1944, Neil Innes first came to public notice as a member of the Bonzo Dog Band. He and Vivian Stanshall were the principal songwriters and leaders of the Bonzos from 1966 until their final breakup in 1972. After the Bonzos, Neil has performed with GRIMMS, on stage and screen with comedy troupe Monty Python, and as a solo act. Together with Pythonite Eric Idle, he created the parody group The Rutles and wrote all their songs. He has also created several series for British TV. He currently lives in England and continues to tour and record.
