Alternative band Garbage was formed in 1994 by drummer Butch Vig, guitarists Steve Marker and Duke Erikson, and vocalist Shirley Manson. Their eponymous debut album was released in 1995. It sold more than 4 million copies. Garbage's sophomore album, "Version 2.0", has sold more than 3 million copies.
