Martin Carthy - British folk musician, born 21 May 1941, in the East end of London. Arguably the single most influential and revered British folk musician currently working on the scene. Played electric guitar for 'Steeleye Span', with spectacular results on the classsic 'Please To See The King' (1970) album. Husband of Norma Waterson, and father of Eliza Carthy, all of whom now play together as 'The Watersons'.
